Your DISC Guide
Adam C. Dennis has been working in human resources since 2004. Originally an alumnus of the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a degree in History, he was introduced to human resources in 2004 and quickly fell in love with the profession. After earning his Master of Business Administration degree in 2008, he joined the National Human Resources Association – St. Louis Affiliate (NHRA) and immediately joined their study group to help him prepare for his certification exam. Adam completed the study group and earned his Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification in January 2009. Since passing the PHR he has been volunteering with the NHRA and has helped many HR professionals prepare for their certification exams. He is active on the NHRA board currently serving as Treasurer and having served in various roles in the past including President of the chapter.
Since 2004, he has been working alongside small business owners serving them and their employees to meet their human resources needs. He had a time working in municipal government at the City of St. Charles, MO, as their Senior Human Resources Generalist. While at St. Charles, he earned his SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from the Society for Human Resources Management and his IPMA-HR Senior Certified Professional (IPMA-SCP) certification from the International Public Management Association for Human Resources. For nearly 20 years, he has been a dedicated human resources professional making an impact in his community.
In 2018, God performed a work and allowed him to have his dream job when he transitioned back to where his career began at the UPCI World Headquarters to serve as the human resources director. He thoroughly enjoys working vocationally for the Kingdom of God. The UPCI’s mission is “The whole gospel to the whole world by the whole church.” He is thankful to do his part in helping complete that mission. Additionally, in 2022, he began working as the chief human resources officer for Urshan College and Urshan Graduate School of Theology.
It was in 2019 that he earned his Biblical DISC Practitioner certification from Lead Like Jesus. He is also a Leadership Encounter and Way of the Carpenter certified facilitator. In 2023, he earned his Master Biblical DISC Practitioner certification from Lead Like Jesus.
Adam is a credentialed minister of the United Pentecostal Church International. In 2020, he met the Missouri District Board and received his Local License. He returned in 2023 to receive his General License.
Adam is happily married to the love of his life, Sarah, and they have three daughters: Abigail, Amelia, and Adalia. They serve their local church with passion to see people draw closer in their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. His daily mission is to be good and do good by loving God and others.
